MAKEBATHEARTIST
I go by the alias… or nom de plume (I
like the way that sounds… and looks)“M.BODDi,” and I have a confession to make:
I used to listen to Z100. WHAT??!!!!! I know, riiiiight… I’m ashamed to admit
because I LOVE hip hop and I HATE [most] pop music. And get this, before Z100
all I listened to was Doo Wop because that’s what my grandmother listened to.
I wince when my little brother reminds me
of my embarrassing past. He’ll be like, “you remember when you used to jump on
the bed singing that song, ‘I’m Blue (da ba dee)’ or ‘Boom boom boom boom… I
want you in my room?’” And I’d reply, “You did it too.” But apparently he’s
excused because he was like 3 years old at the time or something… whatever.

So, yes, I grew up in the
boy-band/girl-group era… Nsync, The Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, the Spice
Girls, etc. My taste in music hadn’t matured yet, just like me, it hadn’t even
hit puberty.
I also grew up in the notorious “golden
era” of Hip Hop. Aside from the Hip Hop sing-a-longs to “The Message” by
Grandmaster Flash while walking home with my mother and oldest brother, my
earliest and fondest memory of Golden Era Hip Hop was constantly hearing
Jay-Z’s “Ain’t No Nigga” blasting from car stereos in the summer time. That
coincides exactly with the memory of my mother giving birth to my youngest
brother, even though he was born three years earlier. Don’t think too hard
about that, I have a pretty shoddy memory and things don’t always align when I
think back.
Anyway, my next Golden Era Hip Hop memory
doesn’t happen again for another 4 years… after the Doo Wop and immediately
after Z100. I think, after hearing this one classic song, I made the switch to
Hot 97… “all day that’s my word!” (At least, that’s how I like to picture it.)

CyHi The Prynce-Woopty Doo (Feat Big Sean) Prod By No ID & Kanye West (3)
by Topchef
The 92y Tribeca hosted Hip-Hop recording
artist Hydroponikz's album release
party a couple weeks back in New York where I was to experience hip-hop as well
as self expression from talented rising artist , and it was dope. The show was a break
out show for Hydro who put on a performance at the 92y, the interactive crowd
chanted, dance and sang along to some of the tracks off of the album title Grown . Opening up the show was a rap group by the name of Deep Foundation who opened up for hydro bringing the energy, the word play
along with some soul foul beats hyping up the crowd for hydro. With his a
official album release and his album now available on iTunes Hydroponikz is up next to make a mark in hip-hop.

All I’m saying is simply this, which all life
is interrelated, that somehow we’re caught in an inescapable network of
mutuality tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly
affects all indirectly. For some strange reason, I can never be what I ought to
be until you are what you ought to be. You can never be what you ought to be
until I am what I ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality.

BASE FOR YOUR FACE
It may not seem like it, but quite as kept the world
loves originality. the controversial Lil-B; the originator of his own
found sound called base Music is doing what R.I.P the Great Nate Dogg did with
G-Funk back in the early 90's. The young originator of the 21century
is putting his own twist on Hip-Hop while creating a unique feel through base
music; Lil-B has solidified his spot as one of the leaders of the new school
out of the 2011 freshmen. However many might question his new found sound as
original , many may say it’s a twist of the classic's with
a modern sound over base, but hey’ if its not new its different
creating his own lane for his sound who knows where the base god could take it.
Thank you base god!

Schoolboy Q feat. Kendrick Lamar X Curt@!ns Live Again
Shout Out to Schoolboy
Q and Kendrick Lamar Curt@!ns for the Live Again video. The video was
directed by Fredo Tovar and Scott Fleishman; the track title Live Again was
feature on 22tracks and since my discovery of the song Live Again it has been
on heavy rotation in my iTunes. Schoolboy Q and Kendrick Lamar put out a hot
track and with the creative vision from the directors Fredo Tovar and Scott
Fleishman top it off with a dope video. Live Again is like a modern day folk
song with a promising message to the youth of the future. The Overall sound and
production of the video capture the raw nature of the lyrics vividly. The video
shows you not only that it is imperative; it is also consequential that there
is Chemistry between artist, producers and directors.

RENAISSANCE.REMIX
Our mission is to plan engagements that focus on the
nontraditional art driven population through the fusion of various forms of
music; from art shows, deejay showcases to musical events. We do it all; a
quest to incorporate range and diversity through talent, while establishing a
whole new era of event planners.
The Renaissance Remix Is
responsible for the development of various networking opportunities in music as
well as the community. Because of this, we are able to provide a conditioning
atmosphere for upcoming deejays, vocal artists, mc’s and producers. We bring
together a range of diverse backgrounds to a social networking event through
music; in which you’ll find an artist to originate their entitled rhythm. This
is the scene my partners and I are looking forward to creating; we seek to
incorporate an environment of diverse musical styles; if a rapper hears the
deejay playing a preferred sound they are welcome to exhibit there talent.
There will be no set performance structure, this event is an interactive event,
everyone is welcome to become apart of this movement. The” pass the Mic party”
is a diverse lineup without musical discrimination. Our deejay will specialize
in everything from Duke Ellington to Kanye west from de la soul to world beats.
Look for our upcoming events on Face Book hit me up and I will add
you to our music group
Renaissance Remix
presents: the "pass the Mic party"!An event that brings an
interactive experience for all artists in attendance to rep their skills while
becoming a part of the show. Real live, full in effect musical
cypher. The true definition of passing the Mic: from one entertainer to
another; Spectators transform into performers, there’s no line up only the flow
of the music. Again, artists are urged to participate in this event without any
preset preparation; Do not expect a traditional open Mic or performance showcase this is
a revolutionary event. In other words, come an engage in the music and join the
stage. Importantly, the pass the mic party gives you freedom to exhibit your
talent amongst a musically driven audience as well as an eager artistic
crowd. We welcome musicians
from all genres and talents to Party, promote, perform and pass the Mic.
Beginning with a Pre-networking mixer @ 7pm; featuring a Dj mix
of decade changing good music from Duke Ellington to Curits Mayfeld to biggie,
Tupac, Jay and Kanye. Renaissance remix was created to endorse artist
performance development and promotion for a new creative era. Let’s celebrate
the love of good music and talented up-and-coming artists. Come experience this
journey with us as we support the thriving art of ground breaking generational
music
*now requesting artist to submit music to the team in order to
promote the dream, and grace attendees
